I'm always trying out new brunch places and today I stumbled upon Wishbone in Petaluma. The first thing the server recommended was the sour dough pancakes. We ordered a small stack for the whole family to share, but quite honestly we should have ordered the bigger one. The sour dough pancakes have an amazing, unique texture to them. They're irresistible. As for the main dish, I ordered the bacon and brie sandwich. The brie was a really smart and yummy choice to put in a sandwich. I haven't eaten a brie sandwich that i haven't liked yet. Another thing that was a customer's favorite is the Bee Keeper latte. This is a lavender and honey coffee. I'm drooling just writing about it. The Bee Keeper is a great, soul warming drink that goes great with brunch. All in all, Wishbone is yet another magnificent brunch place, but with special delicious sourdough pancakes.

Santa Cruz is a great tourist hot spot with a playful boardwalk and great picture opportunities. I would also recommend going down to Capitola Beach, for there are super colorful buildings there for awesome Instagram pictures and well, it's a beach. Now being a tourist sure stirs up an appetite, so we went to Kianti's Pizza and Pasta Bar for dinner. I ordered the combo calzone and it was delicious!! It was definitely worth all the carbs. The calzone was an awesome explosion of stringy cheese and flavorful pepperoni. This dish was super filling and satisfying. My family also ordered a half spinach and half spicy chicken pizza because well it is a pizza bar as the name says. The pizza was average, but still enjoyable because all pizza is great. The only dish i wouldn't recommend is the house ravioli. It may look appetizing and it was in fact good. However, the next day, my sister got food poisoning from it. She was throwing up all over the hotel room. Therefore, don't order the ravioli to be safe. Don't want to ruin your vacation with food poisoning. Kianti's has so many other good options, so choose one of those. (I would recommend the calzone :P) We're in the home stretch of winter. I can't wait for it not to be cold. One great way to fight off the cold weather is to eat at a hot pot restaurant. Hot pots come from Taiwan and starts with a boiling pot of flavored soup. I chose the healthy herd soup base with lamb meat. The meat you order is raw and you place it into the hot pot to cook along with the other food they provide with the meat. I absolutely love lamp in hot pots. It's super tender and awesome. Also, the veggies Little Hot Pot provides makes it a healthy meal. I really enjoy hot pots for they connect me with my Taiwanese roots and are really delicious to eat! So the next time you're feeling cold, head on down to Little Hot Pot in Fremont. |
