So this is a monumental post for me because I finally visited a restaurant that was featured on the TV show, Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. The Santa Cruz Diner definitely deserved to be on Food Network because their food is excellent! This diner has sooo many different dishes to choose from. There's Asian, American, vegetarian, and more. The dishes that were featured on Food Network were the pho and spring rolls, so of course we ordered both of them. The pho's broth was very unique, I had never tasted anything like it before. As for the spring rolls, they were super yummy! You have to dip it in the peanut sauce that comes with it because that sauce is heavenly. The spring rolls with peanut sauce were the highlight of my meal. The other dishes we ordered were the monte cristo, New York steak, and steak sandwich. The monte cristo had French toast for the bread and ooey gooey cheese and ham stacked in the middle. I thought the ham was too salty, but enjoyed the French toast. The New York steak and steak sandwich were both super tender and awesome. They were under $15 and great quality so I would recommend them. If you're ever in Santa Cruz, you should definitely visit the Santa Cruz Diner. It's Food Network and Cute Diner approved!

Near our hotel in Watsonville, we found a delicious seafood restaurant called The Fish House. I just had to try it because my seafood philosophy is this: I see food and I eat it. Hehe. They had a wide selection of seafood and pasta. It was so hard to choose! The waitress, who was super friendly and upbeat, told us about their special that night, the halibut. She made it sounds super yummy, so my mom just had to order it. The fish was super tender and every bite was a flavorful explosion. Then, my sister ordered the oak grilled swordfish. it wasn't as good as the halibut, but still enjoyable. Both of these came with penne pasta and seasonal veggies. The other dish we ordered was the combination pasta. This dish was delicious with homemade linguine and a boatload of seafood. It was a bowl full of amazingness. The Fish House's portions are pretty big and filling, so I just ordered a Caesar salad and mooched off of the other dishes. Overall, my experience at The Fish House was a satisfying experience with amazing seafood. For Spring Break 2k17, my family visited Santa Cruz and it was super duper fun! This vacation was a fun and food filled couple of days, so keep on visiting Cute Diner for upcoming Santa Cruz restaurant posts ;) Now Santa Cruz is known for their beaches, so of course we visited them. I particularly enjoyed Capitola Beach and the beach near the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Capitola is a super instagram worthy destination. They have rows of colorful and vibrant houses. It's super unique and can't be missed. Also, I would definitely recommend the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. They have rides for all ages. My favorite ride there would have to be either the Giant Dipper or Fireball. Those are both pretty exhilarating rides. Another tourist destination is the Roaring Camp Train. It's an hour long train ride through redwoods. All the redwoods looming over me were really cool and breathtaking. With all these marvelous places, I hope you consider Santa Cruz as your next vacation because it's worth it! Signed, The Cute Diner Sweet desserts are great and all, but sometimes you need a break from all the sugar and eat something savory. These cheddar, ham, scallion scones are amazing!!! I love these sooo much. They're cheesy crumbly pockets of wonderfulness. Can't you practically taste the deliciousness? Now don't worry, I'll tell you how to make them. The ingredients you need are:
San Francisco is a city full of shops and sweet treats. Whenever I go to SF to shop, I always stop at Beard Papa's for some delicious cream puffs. Shopping can be tiring so these creamy treats give me that extra energy boost. I am a big fan of the classic cream puff with vanilla cream. It's simple, but still super awesome. if you're ever in San Francisco, I would definitely recommend a quick visit to Beard Papa's for their outstanding cream puffs.
Buckeye is a great restaurant for a fancy night out with delicious food. I recently ate there to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was divine. Every single one of Buckeye's dishes were very well made and mouthwatering. For appetizers, we ordered the onion rings (my mom's favorite) and the oyster bingo. I was surprised that Buckeye even made onion rings, but hey, they were good. The oyster bingo is a customer favorite and I understand why. This dish is oyster smothered in ooey gooey cheese. Cheese makes everything better and that is a fact.
Then for the birthday girl, my mom ordered the Brandt rib-eye steak. This is probably a very yummy dish, but her steak was over cooked. The waitress was very helpful and accommodating and gave my mom another dish. My mom decided to order the pork chop, for it really is an outstanding dish. The glaze on the tender pork is just scrumptious. In addition, to make up for the overcooked steak fiasco, Buckeye gave us a complimentary dessert. Shoutout to them for being so nice. Buckeye's desserts did not disappoint either. The baked lemon pudding and s'more pie were both awesome. I would recommend both of them. Buckeye's Roadhouse has a sophisticated selection of food that will take your taste buds on a wild ride. An international wrap restaurant called World Wrapp just opened near me a couple months ago, so I just had to try it out! My first time at World Wrapp was an awesome experience. I do believe that the two p's in the name represent double the flavor and deliciousness :) My sister and I split a bulgogi beef nori wrapp and an island chicken teriyaki flatbread wrapp. The bulgogi beef was good, but it was the island teriyaki wrap that stood out to me. It was a mouth watering combination of chicken teriyaki, pineapple, carrots, and macadamia nuts. I definitely would recommend this wrap. Also, World Wrapp presses its flatbread wrapps every order, so the flatbread is super yummy. World Wrapp also serves bowls, much like how burrito bowls are offered in place of burritos at some places. The bowls are also packed with flavor. I especially enjoyed the Furikake Salmon Rice Bowl. Every bite of salmon tasted amazing and there was a ton of rice to accompany the protein. Everything you order at World Wrapp has a good rap ;) and will not disappoint, so go on down there for an awesome meal!
