I visited recently during COVID and they only were serving a certain amount of drinks. Luckily, they were still offering the strawberry matcha latte. This drink is amazing! The combination of earthy matcha and sweet strawberry is a winner. And the boba is nice and chewy. Everything about this drink is magnificent, from the flavors to its aesthetic. Would recommend!

Whenever I crave mochi, I think of this place. They're so popular that they usually sell out by the afternoon. To ensure you will be able to eat the delicious mochi, you should call and order ahead in the morning. I recently did this and it worked out well.
As for the flavors, honestly I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I absolutely adore the red bean mochi. The fresh fruit mochis are spectacular as well. The mango mochi was my favorite. It was mango puree and bited sized pieces of fresh mango. It doesn't get any better than that! I also tried the fried mochi. It was similar to a doughnut and was average. Overall, definitely try the fresh fruit mochi and the classic red bean mochi! Your tastebuds will thank you! Johnny Doughnuts is open during COVID-19 and they still have a lot of treats to choose from. I would recommend going into the store and selecting your doughnuts yourself. With their online ordering, you can only order a specialty box and you can't indicate the specific flavors you want. I went into the store early, determined to get their apple fritter, one of their most popular items. I ended up buying some apple fritters, a bismarc, and a cronut. Let me start with the apple fritter: it was just.. wow. It had a nice glaze on the outside with an inside that was super fluffy and had chunks of apples. Also if you warm up/microwave the apple fritter, the yumminess will increase ten fold. I can see why they sell out really fast. The other donuts were pretty good too. The cronut had many flaky layers like a croissant and a luscious cream filling. The bismarc was a yeast raised, fluffy donut with a smooth vanilla cream filling. If I had to rank them, the best would be the apple fritter, then cronut, then bismarc. Overall, Johnny Doughnuts still has a wide assortment of delicious doughnuts that will wake your taste buds up with flavor. One of the things New York is synonymous with is cheesecake! And what better place to try cheesecake than at Junior's? But first, we had to eat lunch.
Junior's has a nice diner feel to it, offering lots of American classics from brisket to cheeseburgers. We ordered the brisket melt, bagel and lox, and the 'something else'. The 'something else' is a roast beef sandwich in between fried potato pancakes. It is a huge and delicious. The potato pancakes are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It is a nice pairing with the yummy roast beef. We also tried the brisket melt, and that did not disappoint either. The brisket melt is a scrumptious combination of unctuous brisket, melty mozzarella, and flavor packed au jus. Getting a big bite of all those components will result in a party in your mouth. We planned on saving room for dessert, but the three dishes filled up four us. We decided to walk around for a bit before coming back to conquer the tremendous milkshake. For the milkshake, we had to get the "New Yorker", a monster strawberry milkshake topped with a slice of cheesecake. It was the best of both worlds: cheesecake and milkshake. The milkshake is cool, smooth, and creamy, and the cheesecake was rich and amazing. This combination put all of us into a food coma, but it was worth every calorie. Wild Flour uses French techniques to craft delicious bread in a brick oven. It's hard to find other bakeries like it in my area. Wild Flour's bread is so scrumptious that I drove almost an hour just to be able to experience this bread once again. I am a huge fan of the Fougasse. This is a sourdough bread with chunks of cheese and potatoes imbedded inside the bread. Of all the times I've gotten it, it has just come out of the oven piping hot. That doesn't stop me from feasting on it though. The bread is perfectly chewy with a little tang and of course, the ooey gooey cheese and herby potatoes make for a nice surprise. I cannot get enough of this delicious bread. Another cheesy bread I got was the Gouda flat. This bread has more herbs inside of it and mouthwatering cheese crisps on the outside of the bread. The Gouda flat is good, but not as good as the Fougasse, in my opinion. If you don't want cheese overload, then go with the Gouda flat.
Wild Flour also sells a variety of scones and bread loaves that are great for sandwiches like sourdough and rye. They make their scones with whipping cream which contribute to the moist texture of the scone. I recommend trying one of their scones! The day I went, Wild Flour had the lemon blueberry rhubarb scone. I was sold just by the name itself. This scone is a wonderful concoction of sweet and sour with the amazing buttery texture that you expect with a scone. Honestly, whatever you order from Wild Flour will be amazing. The staff is so kind, hardworking, and really know how to make their baked goods. Definitely check them out! It's worth the drive. If you walk into Taipei 101 and smell the amazing aroma of croissants, follow your nose and that will lead you to Hazukido. Everything is freshly baked, I actually saw the workers pull hot croissants straight out of the oven. They have an assortment of flavors and we tried most of them. Here are the highlights: 1.) Sesame- A unique and delicious one. I had never heard of this kind of flavor in a croissant, but it worked really well. I definitely recommend this one.
2.) Original- sometimes the original is the way to go. It has layers of flaky, buttery goodness. 3.) Fish roe- this is a savory, acquired taste. If you like salty and sweet, try this one. It's a flavor party in your mouth. 4.) Raspberry-sweet, fruit, and covered in raspberry glaze. Who could say no to that? Honestly, you could probably be content with any type of croissant. They all are amazing. With tons of yummy flavors, Hazukido is handmaking scrumptious croissants that fuse the flavors of France and Taiwan. I've always wanted to go to London to try afternoon tea, but if you don't wanna pay for a plane ticket, just head on down to Crown and Crumpets in San Francisco. This is a super duper cute shop with all the tea shop vibes. We ordered afternoon tea for one. Don't be fooled by the name, it has a huge selection that can feed a family. There were yummy cookies, sandwiches, a scone, and a crumpet. I'd never tried a crumpet before and it was pretty good. Now afternoon tea isn't just the treats, it's the tea as well. We ordered the blue eyes tea with hibiscus, orange, and apple. If you want a more filling dish, the bacon, apple, and brie sandwich is delicious. Apple and brie are the classic combination and adding bacon on that just increases the yumminess. Their chickn pot pie is another must. The bowl is full of creamy chicken and veggies and topped with flaky, buttery puff pastry. Afternoon tea is on the pricier side, but every now and then you have to indulge yourself, and Crown and Crumpet is the place to go! Most of the people at the Taipei Train Station is not even there for a train ride. They're there for the food. Taipei Train Station has tons of delicious restaurants ranging from tepanyaki to noodles. One eatery that everyone is lining up for though is Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake. First of all, you can see them making it right on the spot. It's guaranteed fresh and it adds a lot to it's incredible flavor. Now, forget everything you know about cheesecake because this is unlike any that I've every had before. It's a souffle cheesecake, light and airy, in contrast to dense New York cheesecake. Every bite of this souffle cheesecake melted in my mouth and left me wanting more. It's an extraordinary thing, this cheesecake, so don't miss it. Just follow the smell of freshly baked cheesecake.
Ahh-mazing. What else can I say? There is nothing better than fresh baked bread, still warm in your hand as you eat it. We practically ordered everything on their menu that wasn't already sold out. First is the fougasse. This combo of ooey gooey swiss, smoky gouda, red bell peppers, and green onions was stellar. It had just come out of the oven too, so it's deliciousness went up by 100. My favorite part of the fougasse is the bits of burnt cheese that oozed out of the bread while it was in the oven mmm. Other treats we bought were the sticky buns. We heard that Wild Flour's were the best, so we had to try it. Honestly, there's a reason the sticky buns are so famous. First of all, they are ginormous with a delectable sugar and cinnamon glaze. And finding the raisins and walnuts in the bread is like finding gold. I'm drooling just thinking about it. A sweet and savory rendition of the sticky buns is the Egyptian. The Egyptian is a sticky bun, but loaded with ginger, figs, and pears. The little bursts of ginger that cut through the sweetness of the bread is genius. Now onto the scones we got (I told you we ordered a boatload :P ). Both the plum marzipan and gravenstein scones were absolutely scrumptious. They were crumbly pockets of butter with yummy fruit incorporated. Ok, I'm super hungry now. If you need me, I'll be one of the many people waiting in line to get first dibs on the newly baked items at Wild Flour.
