Fenton's is pretty well known for serving up wonderful ice cream, but what about their food? We decided to try lunch at Fenton's( and eat their ice cream after of course). Off of their lunch menu, we ordered the Fenton's Ruben and the mushroom swiss burger. The Ruben has great melty cheese and flavorful corned beef. As for the burger, it's a fantastic combination. I love mushrooms and cheese, so when they combined that all together in between a bun, the result is amazing. If you want something lighter, the chicken caesar salad is always a good option. Gotta save room for dessert :) Speaking of which, we ordered the cookie connection. This sundae had everything I ever dreamed about and more. There was luscious ice cream, hot silky chocolate fudge, and as promised in the name, a heaping ton of cookies. It was a sundae to remember. Come to Fenton's for lunch, but make sure you stay for dessert.

Happy Summer y'all! I'm officially on summer break yayay! To celebrate, we went to John's for the best summer treat ever, ice cream! First off, let's take a moment to appreciate that each scoop is only $1.50. This is a great deal for super yummy ice cream. I ordered lemon meringue and my sister got caramel. I really enjoyed the lemon meringue, it wasn't too tart and had small cookie bits embedded within the ice cream. It was a fantastic way to start off summer vacation! San Francisco is a city full of shops and sweet treats. Whenever I go to SF to shop, I always stop at Beard Papa's for some delicious cream puffs. Shopping can be tiring so these creamy treats give me that extra energy boost. I am a big fan of the classic cream puff with vanilla cream. It's simple, but still super awesome. if you're ever in San Francisco, I would definitely recommend a quick visit to Beard Papa's for their outstanding cream puffs.
Three words describe Perfume Dance, afternoon tea and masks. Yes, you heard me, masks. This restaurant is unique in every way and not just because of their amazing food. Perfume Dance has masks that you can wear for pictures or while you're eating food. It's really cool. However, I still thought the food was the best part of the afternoon tea. To begin with, Perfume Dance serves smoothies, tea, coffee, and more. A smoothie that caught my eye was the Fantasy Hawaii. I don't see how you can't see it in the menu, it's a beautiful blue and green. The flavor was satisfactory and the fruit on top was just like the cherry on top(except it was fruit...). If the color disturbs you, the Provec's Memory might be more your taste. It's a wonderful fruit smoothie. Also, you can't have afternoon tea without well, tea. I recommend two types of tea, the Sleeping Beauty and Fruit Tea. The Fruit Tea has actual fruit in it too. In addition to that, you can't just drink smoothies to fill you up. My favorite treat was the Pink Lady Honey Toast. It was made of cubed toast, strawberries, and whipped cream. The toast was glazed with honey, which made it even more excellent. The other flavors of honey toast include blackberry and mixed. To sum it up, bring your camera because there's a lot of great food to remember and masks to wear.
For breakfast and snack, I know that Sheng Kee Bakery will always be there for me. I think I literally go to this place once a week, minimum. Something that I usually get in my weekly visits is the pineapple bun. With an amazing crust sort of thing on top and soft bread, this is without doubt my favorite type of bread. In addition to that, the BBQ pastry is a yet another treat I highly recommend. This pastry is a perfect combination of a flaky outside with a BBQ surprise inside. If you're not into that, Sheng Kee's brioche is, I think, a best seller. Like the pineapple bun, the brioche has a satisfactory crust on a rich bread. Also, many adults enjoy the green onion pork sung twist, but as a kid, I like it too. The green onions and pork sung add a fabulous flavor to the twisty bread it's on. To sum it up, Sheng Kee Bakery is a 4.6 start restaurant(well, bakery really) that's family friendly and bakes the best breakfast. With the sun beating down on us, it's time to visit our good old friend, Swirl. First of all, I absolutely love going to Swirl, which by the way is a frozen yogurt shop, with my friends. It's a great time to just sit down and chat. However, the employees made it less enjoyable. Honestly, they were unfriendly and kind of rude. Now for the flavors, I really liked the pomegranate raspberry. It had a great tart flavor to it. In fact, Swirl even has flavors you might not have heard of before, like red velvet. If you have a sweet tooth, then the red velvet cake is just for you. I feel like I left something out... oh yeah! No frozen yogurt is complete without toppings. There's a huge variety of toppings to choose from. There's fresh fruit, gummi bears and worms, crumbled Oreo's, chocolate, and much much more. Swirl has many different flavors and toppings to try, so the real question is... ↓ As you walk through Novato, you might catch a whiff of freshly baked pastries. This indicates that you are near La Boulange, a French bakery. To start off, the chocolate croissant was really satisfying in my stomach. A flaky crust accompanied with divine chocolate made this pastry the best. Staying on the croissant theme, I would recommend the almond croissant for the non-chocolate lovers. I also really enjoyed the vanilla napoleon. With delicious crust and vanilla cream on each layer, this pastry is something you definitely want to get. In fact, it tastes better when it is chilled, especially the creamy parts. Lastly, there are two other treats I would like to name, the berry galette and the croquets. In case you didn't know, croquets are hard cookies with almonds. To sum it up, La Boulange is a awesome bakery that serves more awesome and not to mention, fresh pastries. I visited La Farine again and I'm just adding on to my older post. First of all, as I have said before La Farine's fruit tarts are the absolute best. This time, I ordered the blackberry/apple tart and the strawberry/blackberry tart. For me, the strawberry tart was the best, especially because there was cream on top of the flaky crust. In addition, I really enjoyed the chocolate covered elcair. This was filled with whipped cream and raspberries. Once again, La Farine is an amazing bakery with many, many choices of pastries, tarts, and more.
With fresh bread baked every 15 minutes, this Taiwanese bakery is always filled with customers. For starters, this place is known as 85°C. 85°C has everything you could imagine, bread, cake, drinks, and more. First of all, 85°C is most popular for its fresh, soft bread. One of my favorites is the coffee bread. This had a filling made of read beans and mochi. In addition to that, I really enjoyed the mocha bun with pecans inside. Onto the cakes and other treats, once I saw they had something called a chocolate pearl. This treat is composed of chiffon cake glazed with chocolate. The chocolate was silky and the cake was divine. Another treat you have to try is the mango panna cotta cup, which is mango pudding. To sum it up, 85°C is a 4.8 star bakery/cafe that serves treats that will matter in a lifetime. |
