Three words describe Perfume Dance, afternoon tea and masks. Yes, you heard me, masks. This restaurant is unique in every way and not just because of their amazing food. Perfume Dance has masks that you can wear for pictures or while you're eating food. It's really cool. However, I still thought the food was the best part of the afternoon tea. To begin with, Perfume Dance serves smoothies, tea, coffee, and more. A smoothie that caught my eye was the Fantasy Hawaii. I don't see how you can't see it in the menu, it's a beautiful blue and green. The flavor was satisfactory and the fruit on top was just like the cherry on top(except it was fruit...). If the color disturbs you, the Provec's Memory might be more your taste. It's a wonderful fruit smoothie. Also, you can't have afternoon tea without well, tea. I recommend two types of tea, the Sleeping Beauty and Fruit Tea. The Fruit Tea has actual fruit in it too. In addition to that, you can't just drink smoothies to fill you up. My favorite treat was the Pink Lady Honey Toast. It was made of cubed toast, strawberries, and whipped cream. The toast was glazed with honey, which made it even more excellent. The other flavors of honey toast include blackberry and mixed. To sum it up, bring your camera because there's a lot of great food to remember and masks to wear.

I was struggling to figure out how lightning works and then it hit me. What restaurant has fabulous homemade dishes, fast service, and leaves you full but yet wanting more? Not a lot of restaurants have all these great qualities. However, I can think of one, Lundy's Home Cooking. To start off, they serve awesome brunch items, much like the corned beef and hash combo. This dish has corned beef, hash, and eggs. That's a perfect combination if you ask me. I couldn't stop stealing the corned beef from my sister. :P As a matter of fact, Lundy's has really enjoyable lunch dishes as well. I ordered the Rueben sandwich and it was amazing. As you might know a Rueben sandwich has Swiss cheese, corned beef, sauerkraut, and dressing over rye bread. With all these delicious components to go through, I loved every part of it, especially the corned beef. Not only does Lundy's have a good Reuben sandwich but also satisfactory clubs. The two clubs I thought were the best were the salmon club and the California club. All in all, when you want a simple, yet tasty, meal or just want to sit down for a cup of coffee, Lundy's Home Cooking is the place to go. True or false-food that costs about ten dollars tastes bad. I used to think this was often true but this restaurant, Hot 7, completely changed my mind. Firstly, it's not just one dish that costs ten dollars, you pay ten dollars for an entire feast. The first course they serve is a drink. You can choose from two options, iced grass jelly or warm grass jelly. The iced one is much better for the Taiwan weather. After that, came salad. With lotus root, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, and much more, this salad is one of the best salads I have ever eaten. In addition to that, the third course, soup, was heartwarming. There were three different flavors of soup that you could choose from, beef tendon, bitter pork ribs, and chicken soup. For the beef tendon soup, I really enjoyed the tenderness of the beef and the flavorful broth. As for the fourth course, we got to try bean sprouts. Nothing much to say about that... Then, a bowl of snapper and rice came, accompanied with plum soaked vegetables. I thought the snapper had a great soy saucelike coat of flavoring. If you eat these two together, it tastes even better(kinda like peanut butter and jelly). Finally, they served the main course, which is a type of meat cooked on an iron plate. The choices range from steak to chicken. I decided to order the beef sukiyaki. There were a lot of pieces of awesome tasting beef! That was definitely the highlight of the entire meal. Lastly, the dessert course was a red bean bun. So when you're in the area, go down to Hot 7 for a delicious seven course meal. Ohhh, is that why it's called Hot 7? I get it now... A new type of broom came out. It sure is sweeping the nation.
You better be here next Monday for another Punday! What is better than a restaurant where it's all you can eat? I know, a place with that and all you can sing. That place is known as New CB Party and is located in Taipei. For starters, you can sign up for 4 hours or more of this singing and eating paradise. Let's talk about the food first. My favorite dish they served was the fish. It was really tender and the chefs kept having to refill it. Talk about popular! In addition to that, the pasta with bacon was the Cute Diner's favorite. The sauce drizzled on the pasta was killer. All of the main dishes, like the fish, pasta, and more, are free when you go to New CB Party, but there are some dishes that cost some extra money. This includes snowflake ice, pastries, ice cream, and cake. You would need to purchase "points" to buy these treats. For example, the snowflake ice costs 20 points so you would have to buy 20 points at the front desk. A good thing about this point system is that they give you 50 points for free. For my 50 points, I spent it all on a small tub of caramel crunch biscuit. It was definitely worth it. To wrap it up, New CB Party is THE place to go and discover your star power(and satisfy your hunger).
As you might know, I come from a Chinese heritage, meaning that my ancestors came from Asia. Therefore, during the summer I am going to Taiwan to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. As a result from this, I will be posting attractions and fun things to do in Taiwan and not a lot of restaurants. However, I still will write about restaurants I visited previously in California. I hope you still will visit my blog every once in a while. :)
Signed, The Cute Diner A prisoner's favorite punctuation is the period. It marks the end of his sentence.
Hahaha, until next week! Everyone has a sudden craving for burgers and sandwiches, every once and a while. So when yours happens, be sure to go down to JJ's Burger Joint located in Novato. First of all, you have to try the cowboy burger. This magnificent burger has cheese melted over a patty with a mandatory ingredient, bacon, placed over that. However, I would NOT recommend the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. All the sauce for the pulled pork dripped down to the bottom, thus making the bottom bun soggy and not that good. Not only was this sandwich bad, but the potato salad was also not tasty at all. The potatoes were really hard. It seemed as if they didn't even do anything to the potatoes. Well, that was the only negative thing about JJ's Burger Joint, so let's talk about more positive dishes. A sandwich that was bursting with flavor is the Swiss burger. With mushrooms, onions, and cheese, this burger was the highlight of the meal for me. So the next time you need a good burger, visit this 4.1 star restaurant.
