One thing on my Disneyland Food Bucket List that I was very excited to try was the Mickey Mouse shaped beignets. As we came out of the Pirates of Caribbean ride, we saw the Mint Julep Bar. I spent many hours obsessing over Disneyland ever since I knew we were going. Therefore, I knew that this joint served beignets. It wasn't even lunch yet and the line there was already sooo long. However, the wait was definitely worth it. The beignets are AMAZING!!!! Words cannot even explain it. If you go to Disneyland, you HAVE to get it. The beignets were like a pillow on the outside and had a nice contrasting crunch on the outside. They were soooo delicious that we went back again... and again... and again. We were there for two days so does that makes it acceptable right? Oh yeah, beware of the powdered sugar because that gets everywhere... especially if you scarf it down really fast... Hehe I speak from experience... Another item that the Mint Julep Bar serves is the New Orleans Mint Julep. It's a refreshing zesty, minty drink. It does wonders when you're all hot from waiting in line all day. The Mint Julep wasn't as scrumptious as the beignets (but then again what is?), but it was still enjoyable. To sum it up, Mickey Mouse Beignets is a must when visiting Disneyland. You haven't lived if you haven't eaten their beignets. :)

So our first night in Disneyland was coming to an end. However, we still had one more attractions to go to, the World of Color. This is a very colorful (oh really?) show with amazing waterworks and pyrotechnics. It was an outstanding show and was definitely worth the wait. You can attend it by getting a Fastpass to reserve a spot. They are distributed by the Grizzly River Run, which by the way is a super fun and wet ride. Just look for the crowd of people by a couple of machines and that's probably where the Fastpasses are. Anyways, since the show was around 8 pm, we had to grab something quick to eat. We decided to go to a Mediterranean cafe called Garden Grill because honestly it was just on the way there. However, it was a fantastic choice. I ordered the beef gyro platter. It was soooo flavored filled and the beef was sooooooooooooooooo tender. (I think you can tell my reaction my my many o's...)I don't think I have ever had beef that tender before. But seriously, it was really scrumptious. To sum it up, my first night at Disneyland was a complete success, ride wise and food wise. |
