We were on our way to McArthur-Burney Falls State Park, but after a long time driving, we decided to take a break. We stopped at Fat Daddy's BBQ and ordered the Fat Daddy's Fat Pack. This combo comes with two meats, 4 baked potatoes, a side, and baked beans. We got the chicken and the cashier recommended the pulled pork, so we ordered that too. There's no doubt why the pulled pork is very popular. It just melts in your mouth. Their barbecue sauce makes it even more delectable. As good as the pulled pork was, I actually liked the chicken even more. It was super duper tender inside and the crisp skin outside was a great contrast to that. I enjoyed combining the meat with the baked beans. Now that was a wonderful bite. Fat Daddy's baked beans are pretty addicting. In addition, the baked potatoes slathered in BBQ sauce was pretty good. Anything with that sauce is awesome. As for the choice of a side, we ordered the salad cuz we needed something green to balance out all that meat. We sure ate a lot of meat. The fat pack combo filled up all four of us, with some leftovers for later. Yum! All in all, Fat Daddy's is a supreme place to get your barbecue fixings.

Fenton's is pretty well known for serving up wonderful ice cream, but what about their food? We decided to try lunch at Fenton's( and eat their ice cream after of course). Off of their lunch menu, we ordered the Fenton's Ruben and the mushroom swiss burger. The Ruben has great melty cheese and flavorful corned beef. As for the burger, it's a fantastic combination. I love mushrooms and cheese, so when they combined that all together in between a bun, the result is amazing. If you want something lighter, the chicken caesar salad is always a good option. Gotta save room for dessert :) Speaking of which, we ordered the cookie connection. This sundae had everything I ever dreamed about and more. There was luscious ice cream, hot silky chocolate fudge, and as promised in the name, a heaping ton of cookies. It was a sundae to remember. Come to Fenton's for lunch, but make sure you stay for dessert.
Their prime rib is the best! It's sooooo tender, it literally melts in your mouth. The cut my dad ordered was the English cut, which is three thinner slices. This is said to absorb the au jus flavor better. This beef sauce is super duper flavorful. I had to control myself from licking all that sauce from my plate. Luckily, Hopr knows that people love their au jus so they give you Yorkshire pudding to mop up all the yummy sauce. Our prime ribs also came with a ton of sides. In addition to the Yorkshire pudding, we were given creamed spinach and the choice of mashed or baked potato. The spinach and mashed potato were super flavorful and creamy. As for the baked potato, I would recommend it. Our waitress dumped bowls of toppings onto the baked potato and well, lots of toppings= yummy potato. Perhaps the most mouthdropping side was a complimentary second serving of prime rib. I think all these sides are great because each dish is around $45, so it makes it worth it. Our visit to House of Prime Rib was an unforgettable experience with succulent, melt in your mouth prime rib and fabulous sides. You'll definitely be in a food coma for the following week ;) My family was eating lunch in Petaluma with a friend and he recommended coming to Sax's Joint. He definitely had a great taste in restaurants. From it's awesome decorated atmosphere to huge pancakes, Sax's Joint is the diner to go to. Since I love French toast, I ordered the Elvis. This dish consists of French toast, peanut butter, and bananas, all of Elvis' favorites and now mine too. The Elvis is a winning combo. I could eat it everyday. Another French toast dish we ordered was TT's famous French toast. With fluffy bread and a yummy berry whip, I can see why it's famous. Now you can't eat at a diner and not order chicken and waffles. Their chicken is super crispy and goes well with their fluffy waffles. This is yet another amazing combo! Lastly, we ordered The Joint for everyone to share. We definitely underestimated the size of this colossal pancake. It's huuuuuge! I'd like to see the chef flip this massive pancake. We barely made a dent in it and took the rest to go. I left Sax's Joint super full and satisfied with all their amazing brunch items.
Vegetarian dishes are taking the dish by storm and when I discovered Veggie Grill, I totally understood why. The dishes at Veggie Grill are completely vegetarian (and vegan). I was super excited about this, for everything on the menu seemed delicious. I ordered the Koreatown tacos. They took a long time to come, but they were yummy! The two tacos were overfilling with veggies and Veggie Grill's 'chicken'. The other dish I would definitely recommend is the Mediterranean super green salad. Every bite was a flavor party in my mouth. This salad had tons of different components, from falafels to two amazing Mediterranean sauces. This dish took salad to a whole nother level. The only thing that wasn't pleasant was the tofu poke bowl. Poke bowls should only be reserved for fish. The tofu dish was sour on sour. I did not enjoy it. Other than that though, Veggie Grill has outstanding vegetarian dishes and I can't wait to eat there again! We had just finished visiting the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco and were famished after a morning full of walking around. Thankfully, we saw a food truck called Sam's Chowder Mobile and well, I've never been one to turn down clam chowder. I ordered the lobster roll with calm chowder. The roll itself was buttery and crunchy. This paired perfectly with the succulent lobster. Mmm yum. As for the calm chowder, it was amazing as expected. The soup came with crackers which was a great plus. The excellent lobster roll and calm chowder from Sam's Chowder made it a very awesome experience. So this is a monumental post for me because I finally visited a restaurant that was featured on the TV show, Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. The Santa Cruz Diner definitely deserved to be on Food Network because their food is excellent! This diner has sooo many different dishes to choose from. There's Asian, American, vegetarian, and more. The dishes that were featured on Food Network were the pho and spring rolls, so of course we ordered both of them. The pho's broth was very unique, I had never tasted anything like it before. As for the spring rolls, they were super yummy! You have to dip it in the peanut sauce that comes with it because that sauce is heavenly. The spring rolls with peanut sauce were the highlight of my meal. The other dishes we ordered were the monte cristo, New York steak, and steak sandwich. The monte cristo had French toast for the bread and ooey gooey cheese and ham stacked in the middle. I thought the ham was too salty, but enjoyed the French toast. The New York steak and steak sandwich were both super tender and awesome. They were under $15 and great quality so I would recommend them. If you're ever in Santa Cruz, you should definitely visit the Santa Cruz Diner. It's Food Network and Cute Diner approved! Buckeye is a great restaurant for a fancy night out with delicious food. I recently ate there to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was divine. Every single one of Buckeye's dishes were very well made and mouthwatering. For appetizers, we ordered the onion rings (my mom's favorite) and the oyster bingo. I was surprised that Buckeye even made onion rings, but hey, they were good. The oyster bingo is a customer favorite and I understand why. This dish is oyster smothered in ooey gooey cheese. Cheese makes everything better and that is a fact.
Then for the birthday girl, my mom ordered the Brandt rib-eye steak. This is probably a very yummy dish, but her steak was over cooked. The waitress was very helpful and accommodating and gave my mom another dish. My mom decided to order the pork chop, for it really is an outstanding dish. The glaze on the tender pork is just scrumptious. In addition, to make up for the overcooked steak fiasco, Buckeye gave us a complimentary dessert. Shoutout to them for being so nice. Buckeye's desserts did not disappoint either. The baked lemon pudding and s'more pie were both awesome. I would recommend both of them. Buckeye's Roadhouse has a sophisticated selection of food that will take your taste buds on a wild ride. I'm always trying out new brunch places and today I stumbled upon Wishbone in Petaluma. The first thing the server recommended was the sour dough pancakes. We ordered a small stack for the whole family to share, but quite honestly we should have ordered the bigger one. The sour dough pancakes have an amazing, unique texture to them. They're irresistible. As for the main dish, I ordered the bacon and brie sandwich. The brie was a really smart and yummy choice to put in a sandwich. I haven't eaten a brie sandwich that i haven't liked yet. Another thing that was a customer's favorite is the Bee Keeper latte. This is a lavender and honey coffee. I'm drooling just writing about it. The Bee Keeper is a great, soul warming drink that goes great with brunch. All in all, Wishbone is yet another magnificent brunch place, but with special delicious sourdough pancakes. |
